Commission Art

Why Custom Art?

Custom artwork is a special and valuable investment! Being part of the idea process to create a physical representation of a memory or moment in time is extremely unique.
A commissioned piece of art tells a story and represents what people love in life.

Custom art will be something that lasts a lifetime, timeless and classic due to the personal meaning it holds.
A custom piece can be designated as a one-of-a-kind creation, one of one. Fine art like this has more value and personal connection than those of mass-produced art found elsewhere.

Whenever a moment in life holds a special place or sentiment, investing in a custom piece of art to interpret and hold that feeling is a great way to be reminded of what is most important in life.

Commission Process

Step 1

Concept. Provide me your art idea and inspiration.

This can be a description supported by personal photos or images of other art pieces that you like.

Step 2

Specifications. Select you art size, orientation, and medium.

I work with paints such as acrylic, watercolor, and gouache. I also sketch with colored pencils, pens, and digitally! You can select one, or multiple, to work in harmony to create the vision you have in mind.

Also select the surface or paper type for the art piece.

*If you do not have a clear idea, we can work together from inspiration photos to determine what medium is best!

Step 3

Quote & timeframe. Based on the information provided in the previous steps, I will give you a write-up of the estimated cost and timeline needed for this custom art piece.

Step 4

Deposit. If you are satisfied with the concept, quote, and timeline, a 30% deposit will be required to lock your art piece into my schedule.

Prior to the final art piece being created, a rough sketch will be developed (often digitally) to outline the final art composition and make sure we are aligned on the end goal.

*this will not be an exact representation but an abstract outline.

Step 5

Creation. I will begin creating your final art piece based on all the agreed detail and terms from the previous 4 steps. You can opt in for progress updates to be periodically updated along the way, or be fully surprised by the final piece.

Step 6

Final art piece complete. Client's choice to receive unframed or framed.

*Client would pay for cost of frame they select.
